We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Controller who is seeking a career progression opportunity.

Blending your strong leadership and accounting skills to become a key resource for senior management and the accounting staff, the Regional Controller will report to the Regional Managing Director and is to work closely with the parent company Chief Financial Officer. Specific areas of focus are to include:

• Planning, leading and managing all accounting budgeting and forecasting functions;
• Preparing of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including appropriate supporting analysis and commentary;
• Optimizing the company's working capital;
• Overseeing and improving upon business and accounting policies and procedures;
• Enhancing and evaluating accounting and internal control systems;
• Providing management with financial analysis to support operational decision making;
• Ensuring compliance with government reporting regulations;
• Providing strong leadership and mentoring to existing staff to guide them in realizing their potential.

This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment that values a results-oriented approach including the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. The position is based in Edmonton but will require travel to Fort McMurray at least one week per month.

Opportunities exist for an individual with strong leadership and business acumen to progress into a senior finance roles with oversight for overall Canadian operations.

Qualifications:

Our client is seeking a Regional Controller with exceptional leadership and accounting process development abilities and the desire for progression. The Regional Controller is to have 9 or more years of progressive experience in a financial and management reporting role, coupled with excellent people and team building skills. Ideally, candidates will be designated as a Chartered Management Accountant or Chartered Accountant, will have established strong leadership, organizational and relationship building capabilities with internal customers and excellent overall communication skills. Your exceptional business acumen, solid analytical and management skills, ability to research and simplify complex accounting and business issues and big picture savvy will be critical to your success in this role.
