Janaka Ruwanpura, Canada Research Chair, Director and Associate Professor of Project Management Department at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary. He specialises in the area of risk management, productivity improvement and decision analysis.

Rod Miller, Regional Vice President, Robert Half, is familiar with the staffing skills that are currently in demand and is an expert on the local and national employment trends within the fields of accounting and finance

Dr. Janaka Ruwanpura

Dr. Janaka Ruwanpura, a former US Fulbright Scholar, is the Canada Research Chair, Director and an Associate Professor in the Project Management Specialization in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. He earned his BSc. (Honours) from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and his M.S. in Construction Management from Arizona State University, and Ph.D. in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Alberta. He has developed many planning and simulation best practices and tools that have been successfully implemented in the construction industry for project planning, risk management, productivity improvement and decision analysis. As team leader, Dr. Ruwanpura commenced a major Canadian Construction Productivity Improvement research project at the University of Calgary from 2003 which developed many best practices and tools to improve productivity of Alberta construction projects. He has published over 110 technical papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Ruwanpura was recognized with many awards for teaching, research, service, graduate education and Internationalization.

As President of JYR Consultants, he has been a project risk management consultant and a facilitator using his RisQ© framework and a training consultant in the areas of project management, project planning, project control, risk management and productivity improvement. JYR Consultants has served in oil and gas owner, engineering, construction and telecommunication companies as well as municipalities and utility companies in Canada and many overseas countries in North America, Europe, Asia and Middle East. He is a professional quantity surveyor (cost consultant) both in Canada and Sri Lanka and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Canadian Society for Civil Engineering.

Rod Miller

Rod Miller is a regional vice-president for Robert Half International (RHI), the worldwide leader in professional staffing and consulting services. His area of responsibility currently includes managing the daily operations of the company's two Calgary locations.
