Sharing Sports - Cricket Across the
Pond is a community initiative led by City of Toronto, Access and
Diversity Unit of Parks, Forestry and Recreation in partnership
with CIMA Canada to provide opportunities to youth from diverse
neighbourhoods and to develop social cohesion and interaction among
young people through cricket. The program offers fully paid cricket
training in the UK and an opportunity to represent CIMA Toronto
Mayor's X1 during their visit to UK in August 2010.
Sharing Sports is a Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation initiative
aimed at welcoming and encouraging newcomers and diverse groups
to take part in sports. By Sharing Sports we can help to alleviate
some of the barriers to participation by diverse communities and
equity seeking groups. Sports speak to a universal language of sharing
and Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation is committed to creating
opportunities for every Torontonian to participate in the sporting
realm.
