Volunteer – Branding and Public Relations
Position: Volunteer– Branding and Public Relations
Reports to Chair– Branding and Public Relations
Sub-Committee Branding and Public Relations

Duties and Responsibilities
Development and rolling out of Public Relations campaigns
Attends meetings with recruiters, corporate executives and media
Represents CIMA Canada in community events and corporate social events
Prepares drafts of speeches and press releases for consideration of the Chair and Branch
Liases with Advertising and PR Agencies when required

Competencies
Possesses creativity and imagination to promote CIMA in a non traditional market
Ability to manage and enhance CIMA’s relationships with corporate partners, Politicians, media and the community
Identify and recommends strategies to enhance CIMA Brand image and reputation
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Ability to write speeches and press releases a great asset

Experience
Experience in dealing with the media and preparing press releases will be an asset
Conceptualizing, developing and executing Public Relations Campaigns
Brand development and positioning
Events Management

Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies and recommends benefits opportunities/alliances to Chair – Membership Benefits
Prepares business proposals
Prepares briefs to the Branch
Project management of new benefits initiatives
Assists with drafting communications to members regarding Benefits
Assists with presentations to potential loyalty partners
Assists with member research as to preferences, demographics, etc.

Negotiation skills
Project management of new benefits initiatives

Graphic design or writing content nice to have

Volunteer – CPD and Mentoring Committee
Position: Volunteer - CPD and Mentoring Committee
Reports to Chair - CPD and Mentoring Committee
Sub-Committee CPD and Mentoring Committee

Duties and Responsibilities
Bring new ideas as to the CPD activities, including topic for CPD activities, method of delivery, speakers etc
Attend sub committee meetings (approximately 4 - 6 meetings during the year)
Co-ordination of the event, including arranging the speakers, venue and registration
Attend the CPD and mentoring events (4 to events per year)
Meeting with recruiters and mentees on a regular basis and assessing the needs of the mentees (varies depending of the number of mentees)
Developing tools that are useful to the mentees.

Competencies
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Should be able to commit at least 5 to 10 hours a month for the committee’s various activities
